2025 Lincoln Memorial University-DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine (LMU-DCOM) holds its CCELS...

2025 LMU-DCOM holds its Colby Cassani Endowed Lectureship.

Thanks, in part to the generosity of Colby Foundation contributors, funding continues for the CCELS at LMU-DCOM. Education about all aspects of organ, eye, and tissue donation and transplantation continue to have a permanent place in LMU-DCOM's curriculum.

In 2025, Starla Cassani (Colby Foundation trustee and co-founder) will give a virtual presentation from her perspective as a donor mother. She will address the personal experience of a donor family and the measure of healing their decision to donate provided.

In keeping with a holistic approach, other CCELS presenters include a professional from the regional Organ Procurement Organization, and a physician teaching and/or practicing in the field of organ transplantation.

This learning opportunity is both broad and deep, from personal stories of donation and transplantatioon to clinical, scientific, ethical and logistical specifics.  Question and Answer time will also ensure future physicians can dialog about the personal humanistic considerations and the technical and practical necessities when working with donors, donor families, and transplant recipients over their careers.
