Lincoln Memorial University-DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine (LMU-DCOM) holds its CCELS...

Congratulations...

Congratulations to Colby Foundation endowment recipient Lincoln Memorial University-DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine (LMU-DCOM) holding its third Colby Cassani Endowed Lectureship Series (CCELS). The generosity of Colby Foundation contributors has ensured that funding continues for the CCELS at LMU-DCOM. Education about all aspects of organ, eye, and tissue donation and transplantation continue to have a permanent place in LMU-DCOM's curriculum.
This year, Starla Cassani (Colby Foundation trustee and co-founder) will speak from her perspective as a donor mother.  She will address the personal experience of a donor family and the healing their decision to donate provided.

Donna Long, RN, CPTC (Organ Recovery Coordinator from the regional Organ Procurement Organization) and Dr. Mitchell Goldman (teaching and practicing in the field of organ transplantation) will also address clinical, scientific, ethical and logistical specifics.  Question and Answer time will provide these future physicians an opportunity to dialog about the personal humanistic considerations and the technical and practical necessities when working with donors, donor families, and transplant recipients over their careers.
