The Colby Cassani Endowed Lectureship Series at LECOM [1] introduced all perspectives of organ, eye and tissue donation to attendees.  Colby Foundation founder and trustee (and mother of our foundation's namesake), Starla Cassani. shared the personal side of organ donation with students faculty and staff in recounting Colby's story [2]. LECOM students also heard from Susan Stuart, R.N., President and C.E.O. of the Center for Organ Recovery and Education [3] (CORE), and Edward Faber, D.O., LECOM Class of 2003. Dr. Faber performs bone marrow transplants for cancer patients at the University of Nebraska Medical Center [4] in Omaha, Neb., where he also serves as an assistant professor of oncology and hematology.
