Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences (OSU-CHS) was the first school to be granted the Colby Cassani Endowed Lectureship Series by the Colby Foundation.  The College of Osteopathic Medicine's students were so moved by the lectureships that they opted to use their annual fundraising event, the "Osteopathic Scrub Run" as a way to raise awareness about organ/eye/tissue donation.  In 2009, t

Oklahoma State University continues its annual presentation of the Colby Cassani Endowed Lectureship Series.  Students have further championed the cause by renaming their annual "Scrub Run" in part to honor the memory of Colby and Brayden (Colby's Heart recipient).

In February, Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) Bradenton held the Colby Cassani Endowed Lectureship Series (CCELS) for the first time.  This month, LECOM Erie followed suit.  LECOM's two campuses join Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences as the only medical schools in the nation chosen by the Colby Foundation to provide organ donation and organ transplant education to the college’s students.

February 13, 2009: LECOM's Bradenton Campus holds its first Colby Cassani Endowed Lectureship Series

LECOM Bradenton will host its first Colby Cassani Endowed Lectureship Series on Friday, Feb. 13, 8:30 a.m.-12 p.m.  LECOM becomes the second medical college in the nation to be chosen by the Colby Foundation to provide organ donation and organ transplant education to the college’s students.

The Colby Foundation annually endows OSU-COM to present the Colby Cassani Endowed Lectureship Series.  In 2008, OSU-COM used the Endowment to host a two-day event to educate our future doctors and others about Organ and Tissue Donation.
