Colby's Legacy

In 1993, John and Starla Cassani suffered the tragic loss of their infant son, Colby. While still grieving, they found a measure of hope and healing through donating his organs. In 1995, they started the Colby Foundation to honor his memory and to educate others about organ and tissue donation.

Did you know that one person’s decision to become an organ and tissue donor can save or improve the lives of fifty others?

Colby Cassani Endowed Lectureship Series

The Colby Foundation offers the Colby Cassani Endowed Lectureship Series to fund Organ and Tissue Donation curricula for future physicians. We invite schools of medicine to inquire about this endowment.  The words of attendees highlight its importance:  "...this was a fantastic opportunity to learn about an area of medicine that few students have experienced.  I was able to gain an insight into all aspects of transplantation, from the donors, recipients, physicians and organizers who oversee the process.  Thank you..."
